Donald Payen has officially taken office as Chairperson of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) as of April 3, 2023. On his appointment, Payen expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him, recalling his long-standing involvement with the Board since 2003. Committed to restoring tourism activity to pre-pandemic levels, Payen emphasized the importance of collaboration, recognizing the contributions of past and present leaders in building a robust tourism industry. “Our priority remains returning to pre-pandemic activity levels,” he noted, adding that the MTPA will continue to work in close partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and all private and public stakeholders.
