On March 25, 2022, Arvind Bundhun, Director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA), introduced the new “Where Else but Mauritius” advertising campaign at an event held in Mumbai for travel industry professionals and media. This campaign, aimed at the Indian market, showcases a series of videos and visuals on digital platforms, spotlighting Mauritius’ diverse appeal to various traveler segments.

The event welcomed representatives from the Economic Development Board (EDB), Mauritius Film Development Corporation (MFDC), Air Mauritius, and prominent figures like celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor. Kapoor, a special guest, will be collaborating with MTPA to promote Mauritius’ culinary scene, adding a gourmet angle to the campaign.

Designed to inspire Indian travelers to explore Mauritius, the campaign’s first phase focuses on romance, adventure, wildlife, nature, gastronomy, culture, and heritage through social media. With this approach, Mauritius aims to captivate honeymooners, families, wedding parties, and business travelers from India.

“With travel safety now being the ultimate luxury, Mauritius has successfully managed the pandemic with extensive vaccinations—over 80% of our population is fully vaccinated, and booster doses are widespread. With demand increasing across our tourism markets, we’re confident in India, one of our largest sources of visitors,” said Bundhun. Air Mauritius has ramped up its flights from Mumbai to five times a week, with plans to add more routes gradually.

Bundhun also represented Mauritius at the Poonawalla Stud Farms Auction Sale Stakes on March 27, where MTPA sponsored the Amazing Mauritius Cup. This sponsorship supports Mauritius’ visibility as a luxury destination among high-net-worth individuals (HNIs) in India.
