The winner of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) and Liverpool FC’s “Memories Last Forever” competition, Priyadha Saneechurry, recently enjoyed an unforgettable trip to Anfield with her husband, Nichal, and their son, Nikhil. This dream prize included a three-night stay in Liverpool, return flights to the UK, hotel accommodation, transportation to and from Liverpool, and a daily allowance for meals and extras.
Priyadha, selected from tens of thousands of entries in Mauritius, was thrilled to witness the Liverpool FC vs. Chelsea Premier League match. Recalling the moment she found out, she shared, “When MTPA called, I thought it was a prank—I couldn’t believe I’d won.” Nichal added, “Priyadha told me, ‘I have a special gift for your 50th birthday—a trip to Liverpool!’ It’s been my dream since I started following Liverpool FC at age 10. To be at Anfield is surreal.”
Before the game, the Saneechurrys toured Anfield and the Liverpool FC Museum. Priyadha noted Nichal’s emotional reaction, saying, “Seeing him so moved made the whole experience even more special. It’s like a dream come true.”
The “Memories Last Forever” contest, launched by MTPA on August 1 to celebrate the renewed partnership between Mauritius and Liverpool FC, has brought a unique connection between Mauritians and the Premier League club. This partnership provides Mauritius with access to Liverpool FC’s digital, social media, and marketing resources, supporting its goals of becoming a top tourist and business destination in Africa.
